Stretching Guide

Regular stretching has many benefits. It increases your flexibility, your range of motion, improves your posture and helps to prevent injuries.
Stretching relaxes your muscles, increases your blood flow and sends nutrients to your muscles and cartilage.

Stretching first thing in the morning is a great way to wake you up as it can help to increase your energy throughout the day by increasing your blood circulation. In the morning, this guide will get you from lying to standing, ready to begin the day.
Stretching at the end of the day can help to release built-up tension and relax your muscles ready for a great night sleep.

This stretching guide has been created so that you can either follow the guide from front to back (if you choose to stretch first thing in the morning) or back to front (if you choose to stretch before you go to bed.)
This guide first includes some background and information on the guiding principles of Pilates which will help you through each different stretch. I then take you through 14 of my favourite stretches. Each stretch has been described together with its benefits and how to perform it correctly.
Finally, there is a one page guide with all the stretches in order, so that once you learn the principles of each stretch, you can work your way through at a glance.

Wellgevity was awarded a grant from the City of Busselton to develop a online Prenatal program for the women in our region.
Due to COVID, pregnant women can feel isolated during this time as they are at a higher risk due to having a weaker immune system, they are also not having the opportunity for physical interactions including meetings with their Obstetricians and other prenatal specialists.
Exercise helps to improve the immune system, is a great way to destress and strengthen key muscles groups required for pregnancy.
The program will have a selection of Pilates, Barre & Stretching Videos and Guides to choose from.
We are also working alongside other prenatal health professions to provide a full holistic approach to wellness during pregnancy. We will be teaming up with Obstetricians, Midwifes, Womens Health Specialists as well as other complementary health specialists.
A free trial program will be launching soon.
